Nick's Nit Picks

Here is the most recent list of things that I have either noticed myself of have been brought to my attention.  Please feel free to let me know if there is anything you think is blog-worthy and I will post it.  Here we go...

- I have noticed stickey BIN tags stuck to the outside of the paper BIN tag holders, if you print an BIN tag take the extra moment to look through the clear window on the side of the RF gun printer to see if there are stickers or paper BIN tags so you don't waste them and print the right one the first time.  And vise versa; do not tape a paper BIN tag where there should be a stickey.  There are clear holders you can use in this circumstance, they are underneath the service counter.

- When you go to cut the vinyl tubing (and many other 'by-the-foot' items), notice the two sets of black tick marks on the tubing.  These are spaced exactly one foot apart.  When cutting tubing, count the black marks to the appropriate footage, and cut BETWEEN the two marks.  This makes it much easier when measuring, especially when it is a long section to measure out.  Keep in mind that we only sell by the foot, no exceptions.  Round up if you have to and give the customer the extra section.

- When cleaning the popcorn machine, make sure to wipe the entire inside of the machine down with water/towels.  This includes the hopper, please take the time to remove it and give it a good once-over each evening.  There have been remnants of burnt kernals and old oil in the morning when we go to start the machine. 

- When filling green totes on stock day, do not overfill (i.e. PVC fittings to the brim/60lb. tote) them, but also put more than one or two items in each one.

- When stocking or fronting/facing gallons of paint, make sure to flip the can handle backwards so it does not drape over the front.  It just looks better...
