I have noticed recently that employees congregate together toward the front of the store and are engaged in full conversation as a customer walks by. I sat back and observed a few of these occasions; if I did not greet the customer, none of the other employees even acknowledged them walking by. If I did greet the customer, then someone would jump in to help, after the customer had walked right by and are now being addressed from behind. This is NOT acceptable and very unprofessional. If this continues, you will get a verbal warning, and a write-up thereafter. I don't care that we are chatting, but put the discussion on hold before a customer walks right through your conversation. We survive by exceptional customer service and this can not drop off.
